A Korean with 20 years of international experience, navigating diverse cultures has fostered adaptability, resilience, and a passion for growth. Experiences range from learning Chinese in Guangzhou to overcoming cultural and language barriers in the U.S., resulting in academic achievements such as AP Literature and an exchange program studying Economics at the University of Bristol. Now back in Korea, I am excited to bring my international experiences and problem-solving skills to new opportunities.
At the Marathon, my job was to help participants so they could run without any problems. I was especially impressed by how many older participants took part in the race. Seeing their dedication made me realize that it’s never too late to try something new, and starting is often the hardest part.
This volunteer experience gave me a lot of courage. Some people might think it’s just a running event, but I truly admired the runners’ courage. I enjoy volunteering because, even though I go to help others, I always learn so much from the experience.
At the Book Festival, there were different booth activities to help children get interested in books. I volunteered at the 3D painting and drone booth, and I was in charge of the 3D painting section. I’ve never been good at art, so I was a bit worried at first. But as I painted and laughed with the kids, I realized my art skills didn’t matter much and had a great time.
