I took this course to gain a deep understanding of how servers and clients collaborate. We studied the client-server model and P2P model, learning about the communication structure between clients and servers. In addition, when studying the P2P model, we learned that stable service is possible even as the number of clients increases. We also studied the HTTP and SMTP protocols in the application layer, learning about the process in which clients send request messages to servers, and the process of accepting and releasing TCP connections.
- Web Information System Project
First, we learned about the configuration of web servers and the interconnection between browsers and database systems based on the Java language. After learning the theory, we built the server directly using JSP and Servlet, which are the main back-end languages, and also constructed the page view using HTML and CSS, which are the main front-end languages. Through this process, I was able to manually create the JSP structure that the server reacts to when the client requests a page.
