BIOGRAPHY

Hanna Hyun served Presbyterian University & Theological Seminary by 2024. She is currently a research associate at Global Diaspora Institute, Wheaton College. She also initiated family of Abraham ministry and Centre for Diaspora and Islamic Studies in Sydney since 2018. In 2012, she completed her practical theology dissertation at Reformed Theological Seminary, concentrating on the doctrine of God and His attributes from a comparative religious perspective. She served the Korean diaspora churches, such as Sydney Juan Church and One Family Church in Western Sydney, and co-worked with the Hope of Nations Arabic Baptist Church (كنيسة الأمل للأمة) helping the Arab refugees from Syria, Iraq, and Egypt as a missionary. She was invited to lecture and do post-doctoral research on the Missiology course as a visiting fellow scholar from January to June of 2024 at Fuller Theological Seminary. Her scholarly working background includes eight years of service at Korean higher education institutions, including Kosin University, Juan International University, and Presbyterian University. She was also employed as an adjunct faculty member at Sydney College of Divinity from 2016 to 2020 in Australia. She has worked on her project of transnationalism and world Christianity through the Korean National Research Funds. She previously published her paper through Transformation. The paper pertains to the intertextual analysis of the narrative of Joseph from the Abrahamic religions. She has been a member of non-profit organisations, including the Lausanne Institute, the Centre for Diaspora and Islamic Studies, the Sydney Refugee Team, and local churches in Korea and Australia. In addition, she co-worked with Messianic Jews and BMB house churches and mentored Calvin university students in Michigan, the U.S., and international students in Hobart, Australia, as a scholar.
