SPIRITUAL LIFE

  • Name and location of your current church membership: Moohak Church / Seoul (Before marriage), Dongducheon Presbyterian Church / Gyeonggi-do (After marriage)
  • List current church-related involvements: - English Worship Teacher for Youth Ministry, - Leader & Assistant Team Leader, Young Adults Ministry, - Executive Member(Treasurer), Young Adults Ministry
  • List Christian training programs you've completed: B.A. in Christian Studies, Seoul Women’s University
  • Describe briefly how you became a follower of Christ: When I was seven, my family moved to the United States because my father, a pastor, was studying abroad. During those first years, we lived in a small hotel room, gathering every night to read the Bible and pray together. In that “wilderness” season, I witnessed how God provided for us—opening doors for housing, school, and community. Those early family worship times, led by my father, deeply shaped my faith. Later, at L.A. Philadelphia Church, I personally encountered God’s love, and since returning to Korea, I have continued to walk with Christ. Majoring in Christian Studies and English Language & Literature at Seoul Women’s University, I developed a vision to lead the world as a Christian leader. To further cultivate my skills as a Christian English teacher, I completed a Master’s program at Korea University’s Graduate School of Education. Beyond academics, I have participated in social activities that use the gifts God has given me to make a positive impact, including serving as an interpreter at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Supporters program. I also met my husband through a shared pilgrimage to the Holy Land in Israel, which I believe was God’s providence, and we were able to marry this year. I see God’s hand at work in every area of my life.

ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS

  • How did you hear about Saeronam Christian School (SCS)? During a retreat visit to Daejeon, I had the opportunity to attend Saeronam Church. At the service, I experienced deep spiritual fulfillment, passion, and restoration. While worshiping there, I also learned about the church’s strong connection with Saeronam Christian School. I believe that the school’s educational mission closely aligns with my own goals and vision. After my marriage this year, as I’ve been praying and seeking a new place to settle, I feel that God is guiding me to this church for a reason. Inspired by this experience, I am eager to continue my faith journey here and contribute to nurturing Christian global leaders at Saeronam Christian School.
  • What do you expect to gain (learn, accomplish, benefit, etc.) from your experience at SCS? My goal is to nurture global leaders who possess a strong foundation in Christian values. While majoring in Christian combined with academic knowledge, provides not only a deeper understanding of texts but also a broader framework for understanding the world. Building on this foundation, during my Master’s program in English Education, I focused on critical literacy, developing methods to help students read texts critically and empathetically, understand literary works, and apply these insights in educational settings. Through my teaching, I hope students will cultivate a Christian worldview, strengthen their faith, and develop a thoughtful perspective on the world. Ultimately, my goal is to raise Christian global leaders who can step confidently into the world, using English as a bridge.
