Minsoo Kang is the winner of best media design, ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence 2017-2018. He is an energetic person who understands performance and artistic environments very well from various experiences over almost 15 years. He considers himself an organized and results-focused individual who is comfortable working with both video and audio systems. Furthermore, he loves working with great collaborators and knows how important careful group work is in the theater where safety and collegiality are required at all times. As you can judge from his CV, he has a substantial theatre background including directing, sound, lighting and video installation. He understands the challenges of a performance that brings together many complex inter-related processes and systems, and he is adept at managing them efficiently and carefully, exploring multiple solutions or avenues for the best result. At the moment, he was awarded an MFA degree in Theatre (Interdisciplinary Digital Media) in May 2018 at Arizona State University where he learned innovation, cooperation and passion for theater. He is also an expert projection programmer for Isadora, Qlab, Max7, Watchout6, Touch Designer and Adobe Suite, and has participated in major projects as a media designer. His experience includes the setup of complex audio/video systems from signal origin to final output, including the focus of projectors and configuration of displays. In the audio arena, He is comfortable with both analog and digital mixers in multiple environments, including live mixing for musical performance. On a personal level, he is someone who knows where he is going and knows how to get there.
