Proven leader with over 15 years of industry experience in the Telecommunication and Telco industry, of which 9 years were in broad-base director and executive leadership roles.


I am currently an academic at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University. Our School is ranked #1 in Asia and 4th globally according to QS rankings. As an educator with industry experience, I remain highly involved in industry partnerships, through appointed roles and consulting projects.


Other than my academic role, I also took on an administrative role, first as the Deputy Director for the Master of Media and Communication Programme from 2020 to 2023 and as the Programme Director from 2023 onwards.


Before my career in academia, I was a seasoned business oriented marketer who understands how to define customer centric experiences, formulate go to market strategy and implement marketing communication plans across Asia Pacific. At Cisco Systems, Yahoo!, O2 and British Telecommunications, I have managed teams regionally with direct reporting line into global office. In these roles, I oversaw corporate and publicity communications, digital and social media strategy, events management, brand strategy and media relations under communication and drove brand and go-to-market product and retail launches regionally.


A sought-after interviewee on numerous broadcast, radio channels and for national dailies such as CNBC, Phoenix TV, Mediacorp, SPH and Today, I was invited for my expertise in strategic communication.


Outside of academia, I maintain good relationships with industry partners to stay relevant and contributes my expertise and consulting experience in a variety of ways. I serve as an advisor on the MINDEF Strategic Communication Expert Panel and IMDA ACCESS Committee for more than three terms. I am also a strong believer in industry collaborations. Partners I have collaborated with includes Huawei, Singapore, Google, Facebook, Airbnb, DBS, TikTok, Edelman, Hoffman, TBWA, Ogilvy, Ministry of Transport, SGAG, Udders, Intercontinental Hotel, Decathlon and Singapore Tourism Board.

  • Sought after interviewee by media for commentaries and quotes related to influencer marketing, content marketing, crisis communication or issues in corporate communication

  • Current Project: DMV Global Shipping: Consultant for an Employer Branding Series as part of corporate reputation and recruitment efforts. A series of 8 content videos are being planned and shot with executive interviews, onsite and drone footage incorporated into the narrative.
  • Consultant for Speedoc - a telemedicine provider - on ad hoc basis. My main role is to advise them on corporate governance, policies and crisis communication.
  • Advisor to NTU Chief of Communication for their Brand Communication campaigns and Crisis Management including the development and launch of social media campaigns, anniversary campaigns and messaging during a crisis. Go-to person for WKWSCI related media and crisis situations.
  • Advisor to Ministry of Defence Strategic Communication Panel providing consultation on crisis management and messaging for various government campaigns related to Singapore's
  • Consultant for RSAF Corporate Communication team to evaluate their internal communication strategy and campaign proposal.
  • Committee member for Infocomm Media Development Authority to advise on Chinese content programming, censorship ratings and regulations, and evaluate funding for various programmes including Public Service Broadcast funds for Mediacorp.

As the Global Head of Brand and Marketing for Detroit Electric, my role is to set up the network agencies and team for Marketing Communication functions and work with regulatory bodies and/or interest groups to advance the development of electric cars in the city or country. The start-up was founded by the former CEO of Lotus-Proton.


  • Worked with the founder to set up a global office for its corporate communication and branding campaign.
  • Developed new business entry plans and identified the relevant resourcing and agency needs in each market.
  • Implemented thought leadership and corporate reputation management programme including a high-profile CEO round table with Energy Market Authority Singapore and McKinsey & Company – International Energy Week 2019 at Shangri la Hotel - to increase awareness of the issues and development challenges facing the electric car industry from a manufacturer's perspective.
  • Organised broadcast and radio interviews e.g. CNBC, CNA, regulatory and policy meetups, keynote speaking opportunities for executive profiling.
  • Developed brand strategy and campaign to position Detroit Electric as the affordable, built for urban driving sedan to democratize how people perceive electric cars.
  • Met with regulatory bodies in Detroit, Michigan to present proposals for federal and state funded development programs and to conduct due diligence for the takeover Saturn Car Manufacturing plant
  • Lead the brand pitch as part of a due diligence process for to secure funding with Genting and other interested venture capitalists.
  • Lead the global pitch for a special lobbying PR program to influence local policies in favor of electric car implementation.

  • To communicate the story about Cisco Consumer products to excite and engage consumers in anticipation of new category products in the home wireless space such as Linksys routers and Flip Ultra Pocket video camcorders (made for social media).
  • Oversaw brand strategy. corporate communication strategy and customer focused integrated campaigns.
  • Lead a regional team and was responsible for 10 markets and all aspects of branding, public relations, marketing, media promotions and advertising.
  • The team was dissolved when Cisco decided to focus on its Enterprise business.
