Tower of God: New World
Tilemap: Using Substance Designer to create tilemap. Utilizing Substance Painter for additional texturing if needed. Also creating custom pattern textures or grunge textures and applying them as necessary.
Texturing: Baking and painting textures using Substance Painter except making tilemap. If hand-painting textures is required, then mixing Substance Painter and Photoshop.
High-poly: Sculpting/Hard-Surface using ZBrush and 3ds Max.
Low-poly: Creating a low-poly model using 3ds Max and TopoGun.
UV Mapping: Mostly unwrapping UVs using 3ds Max. When lighting baked in the engines, utilizing Unity's Pack-Margine feature.
Scene leveling: Since I've created small maps(story, battle, and mini-game) for a mobile game and there's no level artist available, I've proceeded with basic lever design.
World Build: Constructing terrain using Unity's Terrain tool.
Baked lighting: I used Unity’s Pack Margin feature to pack the lightmap UVs into UV channel 2. If that didn’t come out correctly, I directly unwrapped the lighmap UVs into channel 2 in 3ds Max and baked the lightmap.
Adjusting environment maps: Create the mood of the scene using color grading with Post-Process Volume and fog.
Optimization: Replace distant objects with billboards for efficient rendering. Optimal memory usage through modularization using prefabs. Utilize normals to represent details with minimal mesh. Use Render-to-Texture (RTT) to optimize mid-poly objects into very low-poly versions.
