The "Lighten" project group, an initiative of the University of Nottingham Ningbo, is dedicated to enhancing education in Kathmandu and its neighboring regions in Nepal Our mission encompasses the provision of educational, material, and financial assistance to our partner schools, aiming to foster an optimal education and support model Through our efforts, we envision significant improvements in the educational and living standards for schools, students, and the broader community in these areas
Achievement:
In 2019, the "Poran Yuzhi" project team consistently organized missions during both summer and winter vacations In a notable collaboration, we partnered with the SESA organization to host our inaugural public welfare product design competition Our dedication and hard work bore fruit as we clinched the championship at the Shanghai World Cup and reached the top 64 in the global rankings Our achievements did not go unnoticed, earning us a special feature at the Futuristic Power Conference
By 2021, our team ventured into the digital realm, successfully launching our debut "Cloud Teaching" initiative This endeavor aimed at promoting Chinese culture while leveraging online platforms to complement traditional teaching methods With invaluable guidance from the Confucius Institute Ningbo, we proudly unveiled a Chinese syllabus curated by our team members
Come 2022, our vision is set on enhancing the quality of curriculum and infrastructural teaching facilities for partner schools
During my tenure, I've been entrusted with the vital role of liaising with the school authorities in Nepal My contributions span organizing the Cloud Teaching Mission amidst the pandemic and pioneering the introduction of a specialized Chinese language syllabus Through our team's efforts, we've equipped five schools in Kathmandu with pandemic preparedness manuals, ensuring they benefit from top-tier Chinese language curriculum resources

Student Project Experience:150 Hours of Reading Marathon This marathon isn't just a reading challenge; it's a significant and joyful fundraising endeavor The event is designed to inspire students to harness their love for reading and convert it into a philanthropic act By taking on reading challenges, students solicit charitable contributions from friends and family These funds directly aid children in rural, underdeveloped regions, enhancing their reading environments and instilling in them a love for literature
I played a pivotal role in community operations during this event My primary responsibility involved overseeing the WeChat groups associated with five rural schools This included disseminating timely notifications, addressing queries, and motivating both teachers and parents A testament to our collective efforts, the average reading time across these schools soared to an impressive 200 hours per week under my stewardship
