Prior to my doctoral program, I conducted a number of studies at a policy research institute affiliated with the Gyeonggi-do government to identify problems in domestic water and waste management and derive improvement measures. Through this, I have not only accumulated research capabilities and knowledge of domestic water, sewage, and waste-related laws and systems, but also the ability to propose more realistic and feasible solutions by practically observing problems in the field where policies are being implemented.
I conducted research on urban water metabolism and life cycle assessment based on material flow analysis to evaluate circular water economy strategies that can help cities enhance water security by using water efficiently and achieve carbon neutrality of water systems such as water supply, sewerage, and water reuse facilities This research has resulted in one doctoral thesis and three research outputs One of these studies was published in the top 842% (as of 2021) journals in the field of environmental science
