- I am responsible for operating and managing the boiler at Daehan Paper. My job involves producing steam necessary for paper production using waste composites, sludge, wood chips, and solid fuels. In this process, I conduct daily inspections to monitor fuel inventory and add additional fuel when necessary. I also prepare production plans and daily reports.
- To maintain a consistent temperature in the boiler, I monitor the fuel condition and adjust the reject amount accordingly. Additionally, I produce electricity using a steam turbine. I aim to increase the reject amount to produce more steam, which in turn generates electricity, while ensuring there are no issues with the piping and checking the pressure to prevent the steam turbine from stopping.
- Another critical task is purifying the water used in the boiler. We source water from the river in front of Daehan Paper, but rain or poor water conditions can lead to rapid corrosion of the pipes. Therefore, I use activated carbon and sand to clean the water.
- I perform maintenance on the machines 1-2 times a month. Due to aging equipment, many issues arise, so I conduct daily inspections to identify any problematic machines. Urgent issues are addressed immediately, while less urgent ones are handled on maintenance days in collaboration with the maintenance team. Through this process, I have gained skills in welding, motor chain replacement, and panel operation. For larger jobs, we call in contractors, and I play a safety oversight role to ensure all work is performed safely.
